Abstract
Статтю присвячено історії вивчення орнаменту як частини етнічної культури. Основну увагу
приділено розвитку різних напрямів гуманітарного знання, які вивчають орнамент. Розглянуто
проблематику розвитку досліджень орнаменту українськими науковцями кінця XX cт.
The materials of this article are devoted to the history of studies of ornament as a part of the ethnic culture. The main attention was turned to the development of different directions in humanitarian knowledge which are exploring ornament. Also this article is touching the problem of development of studies in ornament among the Ukrainian scientists in the end of the XX century.
