dc.description.abstract	The article considers the problem of the Venet's nation localization which are regarded as the earl-medieval Slavs. According to the Tacit's message (I century), the Venets lived between Pevkins ( in the Podnistroviy) and Fenns which are considers as Finns of the North. But we may admit that the word "Fenns" in the Tacit's phrase does not mean the Finns, but a swampy place (from the German *fen(n)- swamp). This correction allows to comprehend an area where the Venets were settled in l-ll centuries.	en_US
