Біографічне та автобіографічне: перетин у текстах Віктора Петрова

Abstract

Віктора Петрова вважають першим українським письменником, який звернувся до жанру художньої біографії. Одним із багатьох, чий життєпис дослідив Петров, був Пантелеймон Куліш, талановитий митець, до якого Петров ставився зі значним пієтетом - саме це дало змогу письменнику заповнити лакуни художньої біографії своїми власними думками та переконаннями. Подібно до П. Куліша, Петров теж схильний до вживання багатьох псевдонімів, масок та містифікацій, що мали б приховати його справжнє "Я" від читачів. Художні біографії Петрова однаково розкривають духовний світ і зображених ним митців, і його самого.

Victor Petrov is considered the first in the history of the Ukrainian letters to have introduced the genre of fictionalized biography. One of many personalities, who became the cause for his research was PXulish, a man of many talents for whom Petrov felt more than an ordinary affinity. This profound affinity allowed Petrov to fill in blanks in the fictionalized biography of Kulish with thoughts and convictions of his own. Just as Kulish did Petrov himself made a frequent use ofpseudonyms, masks, and deliberate mystifications to mislead or conceal his own self from the view of his readers. Petrov's fictionalized biographies were both fictional accounts of the figures described, as well as of the author himself
