Уточнена теорія базових цінностей Ш. Шварца: попередні результати адаптації методики PVQ-57 в Україні

Abstract

У статті представлено результати пілотажного дослідження уточненої методики базових індивідуальних цінностей, запропонованої Шаломом Шварцем, яка має більші можливості деталізації і оцінки цінностей людини в порівнянні з попередньою версією його теорії. У сучасній версії моделі виділено 19 цінностей, які розміщуються на мотиваційному континуумі (колі) за принципом: сусідні цінності є найбільш сумісними, протилежні – перебувають у конфлікті одна з одною. У ході пілотажного дослідження (онлайн-опитування) було отримано відповіді 960 респондентів. Факторний аналіз дав змогу оцінити, наскільки індикатори кожної з 19 цінностей мали релевантний переклад з англійської версії методики. За результатами пілотажу було сформульовано рекомендації щодо подальших кроків удосконалення української версії методики PVQ-57.

The problem of data comparison is particularly related to the study of different languages in diverse social and cultural contexts. For international studies, such as the European Social Survey (ESS), the International Program Social Survey (ISSP), the World and European research values (WVS / EVS) and others, formulations of questions, their translation into foreign languages, and their adaptation play a crucial role in a comparative context. Study of basic human values is conducted using techniques developed by Shalom Schwartz (1992). His theory postulates that different countries and cultures have ten common core values. However, in each round of the European Social Survey, the research team changes statements of the scale because of the problem of measurement invariance. It means that the same items of a questionnaire can be diversely perceived by respondents in different countries. The English version of this refined Schwartz’s technique (2012), which has not yet been tested in Ukraine, was translated into Ukrainian and tested within the pilot. The article presents the results of piloting of the refined methods of basic individual values proposed by Shalom Schwartz. The PVQ-57 method has more features of detail and estimates of human values in contrast to the original theory of the ten core values. This theory identifies 19 values placed on the motivational continuum (circle), where the neighboring values are most compatible, and the opposite values are against each other. During the pilot study (online survey) we received 960 answers of respondents. Factor analysis allowed estimating how statements that measure 19 values had a relevant translation with the English version of techniques. Also, the analysis allows further exploring how questions of Schwartz’s technique form the factors necessary for reliable measurement of values. According to the results of the pilot, we have suggested steps for further improvement of the Ukrainian version of the PVQ-57.
