Методологічні особливості дослідження особистих свідчень учасників Майдану 2013-2014 років методом напівструктурованого інтерв'ю

Abstract

У статті йдеться про методологічні засади, особливості та складнощі перебігу проектів збору глибинних інтерв’ю учасників подій Майдану 2013–2014 років «Майдан. Свідчення» та «Майдан. Медична допомога». Описано приклад використання напівструктурованого глибинного інтерв’ю для фіксації індивідуального досвіду переживання важливих соціально-історичних подій. Зазначено особливості відбору респондентів та ключові для інтерв’юера особисті й професійні якості в подібних дослідженнях. Розглянуто вплив чинників складного психологічного стану респондентів та швидкого розвитку політичної ситуації в Україні на перебіг досліджень.

The paper presents methodological principles, features and the complexity of realisation of the projects for gathering in-depth interviews of participants of Maidan (2013–2014) events: “Maidan. Testimony” and “Maidan. Medical aid”. The paper describes an example of using a semi-structured in-depth interview to capture personal testimonies – the individual experience of important socio-historical events. The “Maidan. Testimony” project was initiated at the end of February 2014 to preserve personal testimonies of the direct participants of the Maidan just after the main events of the Revolution of Dignity. In less than six months, about 300 in-depth interviews have been conducted. The “Maidan. Medical aid” project was aimed to uncover a network of helpers to the victims of Maidan, expanding from doctors and underground hospitals to the aid from the international community. This project is at the final stage and contains about 100 in-depth interviews. In both of the investigations, snowball sampling with elements of different nonprobability samplings was used for selection of the respondents. All the respondents were divided into common categories for easier research development and data analysis. Key personal and professional qualities of the interviewer in such kind of investigations are discussed in the paper. Besides more common qualities such as communicability, sensitivity, ability to listen attentively, cognitive abilities both of the investigations required the interviewers to have their own experience at Maidan and to give respondents the opportunity to speak almost without additional questions. The main peculiarities of the projects were the influence of the difficult psychological condition of the respondents in the first project and the rapid development of the political situation in Ukraine on the course of research in the second one. The field stages of the investigations were modified according to these factors.
