Європейська контекстуалізація біблієзнавчих студій у Київській духовній академії: в пошуку ефективних стратегій (друга половина ХІХ - початок ХХ ст.)

Abstract

У статті висвітлено низку стратегій європейської контекстуалізації біблієзнавства в Київській духовній академії з урахуванням як ретроспективи їхнього становлення у пізньомогилянську добу, так і особливостей розвитку, пов’язаних із функціонуванням цього закладу в системі православної духовної освіти. З’ясовано шляхи і форми усвідомлення київським біблієзнавчим середовищем зв’язків з європейським духовно-інтелектуальним контекстом, способи входження до нього, специфіку рецепції та освоєння здобутків європейського біблієзнавства, що виникали на перетині різнокон- фесійних методологій із науково-критичним дискурсом.

This paper highlights a number of strategies in the European contextualization of biblical studies in Kyiv Theological Academy; the ways and forms of interrelations with the European spiritual and intellectual context, of the reception of the European biblical studies achievements. From the 2nd half of the 19th c. to the beg. of the 20th c., Kyiv Theological Academy researchers focused on the strategies for analysis and refutation of the “negative” biblical criticism; historical and theological evaluation of the modern rationalistic transformations in European biblical studies; apologetically oriented comparison of theological and academic approaches. The biblical polemic of Kyiv Theological Academy scholars with Western scholars mostly touched the use of historical evolutionism and historical criticism of the analysis of biblical books; a possibility of rational verification of biblical stories through scientifically derived evidence. Kyiv researchers constantly discovered, in the Western works, examples of apologetic resistance aimed against the rationalist theories, as natural allies of Orthodox apologetics. The discussion with non-Orthodox radical doctrines became an integral component of their entering the European cultural and theological context.
