У статті аналізується поетичний твір Бориса Чичибабіна "Ночью черниговской", присвячений першим українських святим Борису і Хлібові. Зазначено, що українська література XX ст. майже не дала зразків рецепції історія князів-мучеників, які ціною власного життя ствердили перемогу любові над злом. Доводиться, що інтерпретація духовного подвигу св. Бориса і Гліба, запропонована Б. Чичибабіним, спирається як на міфологічні коди, так і на агіографічну, гімнографічну та іконографічну традиції епохи Середньовіччя.

The author analyzes the poetry of Boris Chichibabin "In the nignt in Chemihiv" ("Nochju chemihovskoy"), dedicated to the first Ukrainian saints, Borys and Hlib. It is reported that Ukrainian literature of the 20th century hardly had samples of the Borys and Hlib story reception. These two princes affirmed the victory of love over evil by sacrificing themselves.
It is proved that die interpretation of the spiritual feat of St Borys and St Hlib, proposed by B. Chicnibabin, bases on a mythological codes, hagiographic, hymnoriraphic and iconographic traditions of the Middle Ages.
